When it comes to visiting Fargo, the first thing everyone talks about is, of course, the cold. And why not? It’s no secret that for part of the year the local temperatures are among the coldest in the country. But look past the icicles and you’ll find a surprisingly cosmopolitan and sophisticated metropolis with something for everyone. Once you start exploring the wonderful variety of attractions and activities, you’ll see that the Fargo community is actually one of the warmest in the nation. (But if you happen to be visiting in the winter, it still might be a good idea to remember to bring your gloves!)

Children's Museum At Yunker Farm

Come see why the Children's Museum at Yunker farm has been recognized as one of the top twenty-five children's museums in the country by Child magazine. With fascinating interactive exhibits and games, the museum engages, educates and encourages children to learn about science, history, geography and more. Kids here have so much fun, they don’t even know they’re learning.

Fargo Air Museum

The Fargo Air Museum offers a kaleidoscope of tours for all age groups that incorporate aviation and military history, general principles of flight, regional aviation history, and more!

Hjemkomst Center

Located in nearby Moorhead, Minnesota, the Hjemkomst Center is an interpretation museum that is home to the Hjemkomst Viking Ship - a full-scale replica of the Gokstad Viking ship discovered in Norway in 1881. Additional exhibits include the Hopperstad Stave Church replica, quarterly museum exhibits, and county archives.

Red River Valley Fairgrounds

Located in West Fargo, ND, the Red River Valley Fair Association has been bringing family entertainment to the citizens of the Red River Valley since 1904. From the annual Red River Valley Fair - held each July - to auto shows, rodeos, craft shows, concerts and more, this is where you’ll find North Dakota’s best entertainment.

Red River Zoo

Pay a visit to over three hundred exotic and native animals. The zoo is also home to plants from around the world.

Thunder Road Fargo

Trollwood Performing Arts School

Trollwood Performing Arts School is headquartered along the Red River of the North, at a world-class facility located in Moorhead, MN. The campus is filled with river views, grassy meadows, walking trails, woods and wildlife, outdoor stages, a 2,500-seat amphitheatre, and warm, knotty pine-paneled indoor rooms with window walls.
